I think it is a London Plane Tree which is in the Sycamore tree family. The bark is fantastic like puzzle pieces. Great idea! We have a few in Houston, but I've never been close enought to study the bark. Nice macro. Happy MM. David/ Tropical Texana/ Houston
Hiya, I think David is right. Don't ever plant one near your home: They get huge and the leaves never compost. In London they are still finding leaves from two centuries ago, when they were first planted.

I'm not sure I would have known what it was without the pull back but it looks really cool.
It looks kinda like our white birches...but so much more green...love that texture!
