2010 Virtual Photowalk - Lacy, Macro Monday

Some of the creations my grandmother made, so thin I would never be able to copy those. The pillowcase is made out of linen she weaved herself. The ordinary sized match is just there to show the size.

Wow, your grandmother did an amazing job! So beautiful! I could never make something like that I am way to heavy handed LOL!

These are so beautiful! I've tried to photograph lace before and it is hard to capture the intricacy. You did an excellent job...

Hiya Christine,
Great minds think alike :-)
I've just been taking pictures of my lace collection. It looks great close-up but you don't get a sense of scale. I didn't know what to use for that.
Somehow a match has the connotation of burning, and i wanted something different. Ah, just had a thought: a ring.

Your chrochet looks so pristine.

How beautiful! My grandmother made lovely creations like these too and I'm ever amazed at all the hours of detailed work that went into them.

I love handmade lace! And to think your grandmother made it and wove the linen, I bow to her love of lace and ability to create beauty!

How very beautiful! Your photos are a fine tribute to your grandmother. Did you inherit her patience?

Such beautiful craftsmanship, Christina. Is this crochet or tatting? Your photos really show the lacy look of this work. Your grandmother does beautiful handiwork.

Judi Clark sa...

Of all the "lacy" themes, this is the best one! Did you have the opportunity to learn this skill from our grandmother?

I like the way you included the wooden match as a reference point and that you captured so many of the different patterns.
